Description
History Founded in 1978, The Birth Center opened its doors to the community as the first out-of-hospital, free-standing birthing facility in the Delaware Valley. The founders created The Birth Center as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization with the mission of providing safe, satisfying care for women and their families throughout their lives. Central to this mission is to create an intimate environment for birthing and a personalized model of care. The midwives at The Birth Center provide maternity and well-woman gynecology care for clients throughout the greater Philadelphia region. Now 6,000 babies later and counting, The Birth Center will celebrate it’s 30th in anniversary in 2008, still actively fulfilling the original founders’ mission and dream.
