Blake & Pendleton, Inc. was founded in Macon, Georgia in 1971 by Walter H. Blake and C. Roberts Pendleton, whose mission was to supply engineered pumping systems and specialty machinery to the paper and Kaolin industries in Middle Georgia. Mr. Walter Blake was a mechanical engineer from Pennsylvania who moved to Macon in 1951 to sell conveying equipment to the Kaolin industry. Mr. C. Roberts Pendleton, a native of Macon, was an aeronautical engineer who attended Georgia Tech and later became the Chief Engineer of Georgia Kaolin Co. In 1973 Gerald L. Peterson, an electrical engineer from Michigan State and a former employee of Allis-Chalmers Pump Division, joined the company. In 1976 J. Allen King, who was an industrial engineer from Georgia Tech and an employee of Armstrong World Industries, also joined Blake & Pendleton, Inc. In 1980 Gerald L. Peterson and J. Allen King purchased Blake & Pendleton, Inc. from its founders. After 30 years of servicing industries using the latest technology in pumping, compressed air, heat transfer and mineral processing equipment, Blake & Pendleton, Inc. has witnessed steady and profitable growth. Blake & Pendleton, Inc. now has over 80 employees at six branches strategically located in Georgia and Northern Florida.
