The bath window needed to go from ornate French to understated Zen. Facing the front of the house, the drapery had to provide some privacy without obscuring the beautiful beveled glass or the lush greenery outside--no easy task! Our solution was to use a very fine sheer linen in multiple layers. The Japanese style required simplicity, so we hung asymmetrical panels over one long panel. The result is continuous filtered light, which lends an ethereal glow, and gives our client the serene effect she desired.

Our Middle Eastern client sought an office fit for a French king. Since our style tends to be more understated, it was great fun to work in this formal French style. This photo, and the following two, show several aspects of the project. Because the builder had designed an Art Deco home, but our client desired 18th Century Versailles, we had to really transform the space. Our client located a master craftsman to create the intricate inlaid patterns on the wood floor, and we went about designing the new display cabinets, and inset carvings to be installed all around the room. (shown in next photo). The collaborative effort had begun.

Part of our remodel of this Westlake Master bath involved cabinetry. The old cabinets had three problems -- they were unattractive, poorly made, and had no place to store the many bottles cluttering the countertop. Our solution to the first issue was to design doors and drawers with an interesting stepped pattern. We finished these high quality cabinets in a glazed creamy finish, and added attractive brushed nickel pulls. The clutter problem was solved by our design of extra deep drawers in which the bottles could stand upright. So our client ended up with a bath that was highly efficient as well as totally luxurious.
