Description
The Westchase community is a rather new development that was created using today's standards for retaining as much of the natural setting as possible. Throughout the community are lush stands of bald cypress, majestic Live oaks, and giant Turkey Oaks which were retained to create a beautiful surrounding. Many of the older trees had never been trimmed during construction and in need of attention today. Please visit our Westchase Tree Services Photo Gallery.
Boen's specializes in saving trees impacted by construction activities. Our ISA Certified Arborist has over 20 years of experience in tree preservation related to all types of construction activities. Real tree preservation means that the tree(s) will remain in a healthy growing condition long after construction is complete.
The city of Palm Harbor is an unincorporated part of Pinellas County that is rich in its tree diversity. Palm Harbor spans a large swath of Pinellas County with freshwater wetlands teeming with bald cypress stands and fern concentrations with upland sand hills with Turkey oaks and saw palmetto. Other environmentally important areas include lowland pine forests, as well as smaller hardwood stands featuring live oaks, turkey oaks and magnolia trees. There is also an extensive mangrove population along the coastal portions of Palm Harbor. The county controls all tree ordinances for Palm Harbor, and has a very strict mangrove trimming ordinance. The county arborists work closely with homeowners and tree trimming services to ensure that the ordinances are strictly followed. If you live in Palm Harbor it is not recommended to trim mangroves without professional assistance and guidance. Boen's tree service is licensed and authorized to trim mangrove trees in Palm Harbor and is familiar with all mangrove ordinances set forth by Pinellas County. Clearwater has an active urban forestry department dedicated to the enrichment of life through a healthy and green city. Currently the department manages over 28,000 trees in the city. Clearwater is also listed as a Tree City USA and has been participating in the tree program since 1984. In 2013 the City participated in the Arbor Day Foundation by giving out over 2000 free tree saplings to be planted in the City limits. The free trees were made available through funds collected from permitting of tree cutting services. The list of tree types that do not need a tree cutting permit from the city can be found on the city website. City of Clearwater recommends "low water use" trees. Low water use shady trees include Florida Elm, Live Oak, Red Bay, Shumard Oak, Slash Pine, Sweetgum, and Cedar, to name a few. The number one tree recommended for planting is the Live Oak tree as it is most tolerant of all conditions experienced within city limits. Please visit our Clearwater Tree Services Photo Gallery.
Dunedin is proud to be a Tree City USA partner since 1989. Dunedin has an annual Arbor Day Celebration where residents of the city can receive free trees to plant in their yards. There is also a local tree Arboretum where city residents can go see various species of tree ideal for growing in our area. This is located on the northeast corner of Curlew Rd and Alt US 19. There are also numerous locations within Dunedin to sponsor the planting of tree(s) through the popular Adopt a Tree Program. Please contact Dunedin city tree services for more information.
