Ysabel had been suffering from multiple strokes she received shortly after her knee surgery back in June of this year. The family had high hopes for her recovery but it never came. She was left physically and mentally disabled having to depend on her children for full time care. Last Thursday (12/22) afternoon Alfred, her eldest son, came by to pick her up for dinner and an evening of fun. The entertainment plans included taking Ysabel and the kids down to Riverside to look at the Christmas lights and decorations, something she really enjoyed and looked forward to. Unfortunately, right after dinner, while sitting around the table, Ysabel suffered a massive stroke that turned out to be fatal. While awaiting the paramedics, Alfred hugged his mom tightly on his lap whispering one prayer after another into her ear. Ysabel was taken down to the Presbyterian Hospital in the city of Glendora where she passed away at 10:53 p.m. She was surrounded by all of her children and grandchildren.
