Bob Bond began as a carpenter's helper in the 1970's. After being laid off, he picked up some jobs here and there, and soon discovered that he had a natural talent for carpentry, as well as a very necessary attribute for success in any job - self confidence.Bob took on the task of building a new home for his parents and found himself employing other workers. This was the beginning of Bond Builders, Inc. which has grown over the years from himself as the only carpenter to a staff of over 30.Much of the company's early work centered around the renovation of commercial businesses in downtown Bar Harbor. The quality of that work resulted in offers for residential construction. Although Bond Builders still does commercial construction and renovations, we are primarily involved in the construction of high-end residences on Mt. Desert Island.
