Since the days in the latter quarter of the 19th century when it was known as "The Duck Inn," the property has catered to various industries including fishing, transportation, recreation and tourism. As a boy growing up on Long Beach Island, Chris Vernon, owner of Bonnet Island Estate, spent endless hours among the coastal bays and beaches. Even then, he dreamed of owning the two-acre site sharing with others his love of the land's beauty and serenity. Bonnet Island Estate is a labor of love, a fulfillment of a dream, a realization of a vision, a tribute to history and a promise to nature.
