Description

The Children's Library serves young people from birth through approximately 13 years of age. We are located on the first floor of the Athen um, at the end of the hallway that runs to the right off the Bow Room. The book collection contains quality literature, both new and old. The Preschool Room has board books, picture books, and easy readers, as well as an aquarium. The Young Readers' Room has classics, non-fiction, and popular fiction. In addition to books, the library offers magazines, audio books, and computer stations for research. A variety of programs are offered to promote enjoyment of books and use of the library as a life-long resource. We have exciting news from the Children's Library! We now have a listening center for books on tape in the Preschool Room. The listening center is equipped with a cassette player for use with up to four headphones. We have twelve books on tape currently available with more on the way. Children can follow along in the accompanying paperback book as they listen to the story.
