Description
For several years Sharon had the opportunity to run her own massage and Yoga business in Westford, Massachusetts. Through that experience she learned the valuable skill of tailoring her care plan to meet the individual needs of each client. She has extensive experience with a wide variety clients including: body builders, dancers, adolescents, seniors, pregnant women, accident victims, clients with fibromyalgia, and cancer survivors to name a few.
The Thompson Technique uses a segmental drop table to enhance the motion force directed toward the segment or area to be adjusted. Dr. J. Clay Thompson introduced the concept of adding motion by inventing a headpiece that would drop away as the adjustive thrust was applied to the vertebral segment. A patent was granted in 1955 for the Palmer-Thompson drop headpiece. Dr. Thompson went on to invent a table with drop pieces for adjusting the dorsal, lumbar, and pelvic areas. Today there are multiple manufacturers of drop-piece tables used worldwide.
