Description
The Woman behind the Company Kate Harding, born and raised in Chicago, decided at the age of 8 that she wanted to be nurse. Her goal was to be as kind and comforting as the nurses she came to know during a brief hospitalization in childhood. Kate pursued this goal at Augustana Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago. After graduation, she moved to Colorado and made it her home. Some years later, she attended the University of Colorado School of Nursing and became certified as a Nurse Practitioner. She is an Advanced Practice Nurse in the state of Colorado. Her clinical nursing experience includes positions with: • Colorado State Health Department, Conejos County Public Health • People’s Clinic, Boulder, Colorado • Boulder Obstetrics and Gynecology, currently, Thayer Group for Women’s Care, P.C. in Boulder, CO With more than 20 years experience as a nurse practitioner, Kate took a change of direction in her professional life. She again returned to school and after an internship at CU’s Wardenberg Student Health Service, became a Certified Biofeedback Therapist. Biofeedback is a perfect fit for Kate and a natural extension of her background in healthcare. It incorporates her favorite aspects of nursing: • providing care with mindfulness • teaching and empowering others • listening and providing support Kate lives in Boulder, Colorado with her husband Jim. She loves being a mom and a grandma. She tries to balance work and play. She enjoys gardening and hiking. Kate especially cherishes time spent visiting and laughing with family and friends and of course, playing with her dog, Bruce. Relaxation techniques or meditation practices are components of biofeedback training. Relaxation allows us to come back into a state of internal balance. The consistent practice of relaxation techniques can help you accomplish the following: • Improved well-being and general state of health • Increased energy, productivity, concentration and memory • Decreased fatigue, promote alertness, and ability to focus • Improved sleep • Help your body/mind recover from adverse effects of stress CONTACT INFORMATION BOULDER BIOFEEDBACK CENTER, LLC 2885 Aurora Avenue, Suite 15 Boulder, Colorado 80303 Phone: 303-247-9197 Fax: 720-890-2951 Email: relaxandbreathe@comcast.net
