Description

Box Butte Development Corporation was formed in 1986 by a group of forward-thinking, proactive community leaders. The founding fathers of BBDC were concerned the two driving forces of Box Butte county's economy, agriculture and the railroad, both could have cyclical natures and these tandem negative cycles could have far-reaching effects on the county. Thus, the intent of an economic development organization was to try to diversify businesses to mitigate dual adverse circumstance in the two most important economic engines of the economy.
