Description
Bob earned his Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh in 1974 and has 36 years of experience in outpatient orthopedic/sports rehab clinics. Three of his 36 years of experience were in Florida and the remaining 33 years in North Carolina. Bob decided to pursue a career in physical therapy because he felt called to help and assist others. His favorite area to treat is the shoulder.
Following graduation, Kyle traveled to La Crosse, WI to receive further training in sports medicine at a one-year American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)-accredited post-graduate residency program at Gundersen Health System (GHS). He enjoyed his time assisting with teaching at the DPT program at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, engaging in research, providing emergency response services at athletic venues, and gaining valuable experience in providing excellent clinical care to the athletic population. Kyle earned the Sports Certified Specialist designation in June, 2014 which fewer than 1% of physical therapists receive.
The physical therapy we provide for Winston-Salem NC is based on the guiding principles that a quality physical therapy clinic will follow. We strive to offer the foremost care possible with the foremost service.
Geriatric Physical Therapy - Some therapists specialize in the rehabilitation of seniors. As the body ages, a variety of challenges arise. We stiffen, we lose strength, our balance skills decline, our bones become brittle (osteoporosis), our endurance decreases, and we take longer to recover from injuries. Balance and fall prevention are of paramount importance to the therapist who is working with seniors and some clinics are solely dedicated to caring for those with balance problems. Most physical therapists work with seniors/geriatric patients. Some have obtained additional education, have passed a board examination, and have earned the Geriatric Certified Specialist (GCS) title.
Danielle especially enjoys working with the geriatric population. She is experienced in the skilled nursing setting, which promotes functional return of movement and allows patients to improve their quality of life by gaining back their independence. She is interested in furthering her manual skills in outpatient therapy, and aims to obtain her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification after completing the residency.
