The MSHA is dedicated to promoting the American Saddlebred Horse within the State of Minnesota and, specifically, encourages the breeding, ownership, training, showing, use and improvement of the breed to foster public recognition and esteem for the breed and endeavor to promote public interest in the breed and awareness of its versatility. Among it activities are the Futurity, Limited Breeders Auction and the Summer Series, a six-show, high-point awards program.

Incorporated under the Livestock Pedigree Act, ASHA of Canada is a non- profit organization open to anyone who wants to join. The goal is to give a national unified voice and face to the activities of those breeders who have been producing top quality American Saddlebreds in Canada for over 60 years.

The Hackney Horse Society UK was founded in 1883 and continues to promote the breed in England and throughout the world. The web site is designed to provide a useful and interesting resource for those wanting to learn more about the Hackney breed, both horse and pony, and includes information about activities there. The site focuses on breed history and standards, show diary and results, links, sales and wants, merchandizing, ads, membership information, news, society minutes and the national show.

The nation's oldest light horse market, Tattersalls was founded in 1892 eight blocks from the center of Lexington and adjacent to the Red Mile Trotting Track that was established in 1875. The auction business was successful with various owners and management teams, as there was a great need for saddle and carriage horses. In 1933, then famous horseman Bob Moreland consigned American Born to Tattersalls. The stallion commanded a final bid of $12,000.00 and, according to historian Susanne, this was the highest price that had ever been paid for an American Saddlebred.

For over 50 years, the farm has provided educational experiences and training for students and visitors while perpetuating the Battell, Government, and UVM bloodlines. UVM Morgans are prized as superb pleasure horses for recreational use and as foundation broodstock. The farm maintains a high quality group of sale prospects at all times. This inventory includes broodmares, performance prospects, and sucklings and yearlings.
