Mr. Chong is a seasoned corporate attorney with more than 30 years of experience in corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, finance, securities law and litigation. He joined Broadcom in 2008 after serving since 2005 as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Safeco Corporation, a property and casualty insurance company. Prior to joining Safeco, he served for more than 20 years at McKesson Corporation, a health care services and information technology company based in San Francisco, in a number of legal and management roles including Deputy General Counsel. Dr. Samueli has more than 30 years of experience in the fields of communications systems engineering and digital signal processing. In 1985 he began serving as a professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he has supervised advanced research programs in broadband communications circuits and digital signal processing and he has published more than 100 technical papers in these areas.
