Description

The proposed public water system includes 12" mains along Jasper Road, Telleen Avenue and two proposed primary local roads, and 8" water mains along all other local streets, providing potable services for all 100 proposed future residences for domestic, fire supply and irrigation use. To satisfy system Town grid looping requirements, there will also be offsite mains both to the south and the north.

Working with Bennett Wagner & Grody Architects, Brown Civil Engineering was retained to provide civil engineering services related to site grading and drainage issues and utility relocations for these residence facilities at the University of Colorado, Boulder campus.

Our core philosophy is focused on service, with each project coordinated by the principal of Brown Civil Engineering who works directly with the client to determine the scope of services required, and how we can best help in achieving the client's particular goals. We find our skills being requested at various stages of project development including planning, public involvement, design and construction related services. Our years of experience in value engineering lead to appropriate scheme and material selections for each individual project.

Original design included new public water main extension which crossed Interstate Highway 70, design of an elevated water tank providing both fire and domestic water service to the facility, 2,800 linear feet of private sanitary sewer, a private sanitary sewer lift station, and public sanitary sewer extension with 2,550 linear feet of 8” force main and 900 linear feet of 18” gravity flow sewer main.

Our company history began in 1999, when Margaret J. Brown, P.E., a civil engineer, launched the civil engineering branch, as Principal-In-Charge of Civil Engineering, of our precursor Ehrhart Griffin & Associates, Inc. in Erie, Colorado. Margaret had been performing civil engineering design services for Colorado based projects with Ehrhart Griffin & Associates, Inc. since 1993. In 2007, the Omaha partners withdrew their presence from Colorado, and Brown Civil Engineering was formed.
