Live-in Owner Elisabeth Brownell is featured in Taos Ski Valley's famous book Ski Pioneers and offers warm hospitality to guests at the Brownell Chalet. Some guests have been returning every year for over 40 years. Elisabeth herself worked for the Taos Ski Valley founder Ernie Blake in 1962 for two winters and here met her late husband Tom Brownell. In 1968 newly married Tom and Elisabeth bought the historical Thunderbird Lodge and built this chalet during the beginnings of Taos Ski Valley.
