AAC's exceptional product properties and ease of construction give it strong advantages over conventional building materials. Its strength makes it suitable for both load-bearing and non load-bearing structures. It is available in several forms: -Large blocks. The standard block is 8 x 8 x 24 which allows 1.33 sq. ft. to be laid per block. These blocks, weighing only 32 lbs. per block, are available with handholds as well as with tongue and groove end joints, which provide easy and sure connections. -Lightweight wall panels partitions may be used in multiple load and non load-bearing applications. The panels come in 2 x 20 maximum widths and lengths and have thickness parameters from a minimum of 6 up to 12. Each panel is essentially custom engineered to a specific size based on the engineered shop drawings that are prepared for each individual project. -AAC cladding measures 2x 3 x 4 and has been specifically designed as a cost effective alternative to EFIS. -Lintels. -Reinforced panels for deck, floor and roof applications. Attributes Fire resistance - AAC is non-combustible so, in the case of fire, it does not burn and ,therefore, no toxic gases or vapors are emitted. Solid AAC construction, without any additional finishing materials, provides a fire rating of 4 hours for a 4-inch thick block wall based on UL tests. Energy efficiency - An 8-inch thick AAC wall assembly outperforms conventional wood and concrete masonry construction for energy efficiency. This efficiency is achieved by a very low thermal conductivity (U-value) along with the thermal mass effect. The effective R-value of an 8 AAC wall is 20. (Aercons AAC has been granted the Energy Star rating.) Sound insulation - As a porous concrete material, AAC provides a sound insulation value of 7 db greater than other building materials of the same weight per surface area. A 4-inch thick AAC wall has an STC (sound transmission class) of 36 and an 8-inch thick AAC wall has an STC of 44. Both of these examples assume a finish plaster on both sides of the walls. Breathable - With approved AAC compatible stucco and acrylic finishes, AAC provides structures that breath.
