J. H. Buhrmaster started his company as a small coal business - with an office, a coal shed and a horse-drawn wagon as his only assets! He hired his sister, Elizabeth, to run the office and a yard hand to get the business up and running. By the 1920s his company was prospering. It was incorporated as J.H. Buhrmaster Co., Inc. in 1927. In 1937, Kenneth E. Buhrmaster joined his father in the business. By 1938, K.E. Buhrmaster bought his first oil truck and started in the heating oil business, which is the backbone of our company today. J.H.
