BSD SpecLink-E BSD’s move to continuous on-line updating for BSD SpecLink-E, originally scheduled to follow the previous quarterly release, was delayed due to a minor technical problem. As a result, the spring release includes all recent changes to the master database, and these will be installed automatically as part of the update. On-line, on-demand updating will begin very shortly after this release has been distributed. Our customers will be able to determine how frequently they want the master data updated and can specify the time of day the updates will be downloaded.

BSD SpecLink ® includes several other features designed to complement the Specified Manufacturer Logs. To obtain additional information on any of the hundreds of manufacturers in the master specification database, SpecLink ® users can now click on over 1800 hyperlinks that connect directly to the manufacturers' websites. Live hyperlinks have been added in the Master Note attached to each manufacturer listed in SpecLink ® .

Websites appear in a separate Explorer window, allowing users to browse the manufacturers' information, copy relevant text, and paste it directly into the open SpecLink ® document. Over 1,800 manufacturer hyperlinks were added in this release, and the links lead directly to the manufacturers listed, instead of to an intermediate website.
