Description
The concept of Business Recovery Center came about in 1990 when our founder, Mark Hicks, was building a Security and Disaster Recovery Plan for a Fortune company where he was the IS Director. He felt strongly that this type of planning was even more critical for Small to Medium businesses (SMBs), but it had to be very affordable while still effective. He left large Corporate America and built a technology networking company focused on SMBs to meet their unique needs. In 1995, we opened our first Hot-Site facility and started helping our clients plan. This 12 seat hot-site also served as a training facility to our clients. Listening to customer feedback, the Hot-Site evolved and grew in 1999 into a 30 seat hot-site with enhanced features including a high speed internet connection, 3 high speed network printers, electrical generator, fire resistant safe, and an advanced network based phone system. At the same time, the name Business Recovery Center was incorporated and the Business Continuity division was split off to form its own company.
