The Village of Minooka is a charming community founded in 1869 along the route of the Rock Island Railroad. Minooka is Pottawatomie for "Good Land". Transportation has played an important role in the development of the community. More convenient access was made available when Interstate 80 was built in the 1960's with access ramps to Minooka. According to the 2010 census, the population of Minooka is 10,924. However, residential growth is not the only growth, the commercial and industrial growth has followed the residential boom, providing necessary services, jobs, and a balanced tax base.

It is clear our mission is to strive to develop a partnership with the community of over 11,000 residents to provide quality police services while protecting individual rights in a professional and impartial manner.
