Butters is a privately held, real estate firm, engaged in the construction, development, investment, management and leasing of industrial, office, and retail properties. The Butters organization is currently the number one developer of industrial properties in Broward County, and the fifth most active developer in all of South Florida, with approximately 1,500,000 square feet under construction, in permitting, or in design. Butters also ranks as the fifth most active commercial developer in the State of Florida, according to the 2005 Florida Trend Magazine. The Butters family has been headquartered in South Florida for the past 20 years. In 2002, the firm won the "Diamond Award" from the South Florida Business Journal and in 1999 and 2003, Butters won "Developer of the Year" Award from the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties, South Florida Chapter. Approximately half of the projects by Butters are speculative development, while the other half are build-to-suits (for lease or sale).
