South Park Motor Lines, Inc. now doing business as CAST Transportation was founded in 1948 by husband and wife Richard and Lody Eshe. In those days South Park hauled mostly LTL freight like printing presses, toothbrushes, and drinking glasses to the small mountain communities of Colorado. In the mid 1970’s CAST expanded into Truckload freight. In 1979 the business was purchased by son Rick Eshe. Since then, CAST has become known for hauling difficult freight around the country when other carriers didn’t have the required skills or equipment. One shipment to be proud of was a 198 ton locomotive moved in northwestern Colorado, with a temperature of 20° below zero.In 1996 CAST relocated to its new more modern facility in Henderson Colorado, just outside of Denver. The new facility contains CAST’s Dispatch, Operations, Millwright, Safety and Executive offices. Adjoining the office is the shop area for all maintenance, as well as the truck wash bay.secured. Adding to CAST’s versatility, the facility also has its own rail spur serviced by the BNSF (Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad). From the rail siting, transloading services may be performed, rail to truck or truck to rail.
