Description

Established in 2002 to implement the provisions of its authorizing statute , the California Health Benefits Review Program (CHBRP) responds to requests from the State Legislature to provide independent analysis of the medical, financial, and public health impacts of proposed health insurance benefit mandates and repeals.

The California Health Benefits Review Program (CHBRP) responds to requests from the State Legislature to provide independent analyses of the medical, financial, and public health impacts of proposed health insurance benefit mandates and proposed repeals of health insurance benefit mandates. CHBRP was established in 2002 by the University of California to implement the provisions of its authorizing statute .

Smita Patil joined CHBRP in 2014 as the Graduate Health Policy Intern. Patil is currently earning her MPH in Health Policy and Management at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. Patil matriculated to graduate school from UC Irvine, where she double-majored in Political Science and Public Health Policy. In the past, Patil has worked with AIDS Service Foundation, Orange County and Colon Cancer Alliance, located in Washington, D.C.
