Description
Since 1983, Compliance Service of America has assisted wineries, breweries, and distilled spirits producers with the full range of their regulatory needs. Our broad experience, excellent teamwork, and long-standing relationships with many state and federal regulators allow us to smoothly and efficiently handle compliance projects of any size and complexity. For new facilities, we prepare and file state license and Alcohol Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) permit applications, and closely monitor their progress to approval.
Compliance Service of America has been helping wineries take full advantage of direct shipping opportunities for over 15 years. During that time, winery-direct sales privileges have proliferated and become much more complex. In the wake of the Granholm decision, many more states established permits and procedures to allow direct shipping to their residents from out-of-state wineries. CSA's knowledge and experience is your fast track for adding direct-to-consumer sales to your bottom line.
Compliance Service of America (CSA) is a consulting firm specializing in local, state, and federal licensing and regulation for all levels of the alcoholic beverage industry, nationwide. Our clients include restaurant and grocery store chains, golf courses, brewpubs, wineries, grape growers, breweries, distillers, importers, and wholesalers. Any company that makes or sells alcoholic beverages can benefit from our services. Because of our exceptional competence, people often think of CSA as a law firm or regulatory agency.
The alternating proprietorship ("AP") is a relationship between a "host" producer with excess capacity, and one or more smaller producers that share space and equipment within the host's facility. This "shared premises" model has become very common in the wine industry, and is gaining in popularity for brewery operators. An AP allows two or more proprietors to alternate the use of portions of a winery or brewery premise, thereby sharing the cost of facilities, equipment, and personnel.
In no other segment of the industry are there so many alternatives for how and where to conduct business. Because each state has its own approach to alcoholic beverage regulation, your business plan may be illegal in one state, but perfectly viable in another. Let us help you find the right home and the right license type for your new venture. If you are new to the importation and distribution of alcoholic beverages in the U.S., we help shepherd you through the licensing process, help get your products correctly labeled and approved, and advise you on your options for multi-state distribution.
