Joy Walsh has been a lifelong culinary artist and enthusiast. Having enjoyed the tea experience privately for 6 years, she began catering tea parties in 2002. Her presentation and cuisine was met with such positive reception that she decided to take her passion to the next level. She began taking steps to opening up her own business - developing recipes and menus, sampling fine teas, scouting locations for the future destination tea room and amassing an impressive English china collection. In spring 2004, Joy toured and visited some of the best tea rooms in England. In fall 2004, she attended a tea seminar hosted by distinguished tea master & author, Bruce Richardson. Joy has since taken a tea mastery course with the American Tea Masters Association. In September 2008, she had the privilege of touring China, the birthplace of tea, with another renowned master, Roy Fong. The perfect location at the corner of Chatsworth and Voltaire was found! Joy signed the lease and resigned from her local radio job. Tea-Upon-Chatsworth opened to rave reviews in November 2004, the culmination of Joy's passion and vision.
