I have embarked on a project to give away one million of my hand-painted “Focal Point ” rocks in an effort to share the concept in keeping with the Law of Attraction “what we focus on we become. ” Each rock is given with a brief explanation about how to “use ” it: "Keep it somewhere visible where it can serve as a reminder to stay focused in positive energy, then …soon, you will notice changes happening in your life." I heard this a few years ago and realized that I had been applying that principle in various ways. The first way was by wearing a t-shirt that I painted that said “believe ” …each time I put it on I would allow myself to imagine the kind of life that I wanted, to spend some time trying on for size my new, improved life. Not really knowing what I was doing, pretty soon all the changes I ’d imagined started happening …and they happened very quickly, as if on automatic pilot. Then, I had a dream about painting all kinds of colorful rocks with positive statements/words on them and placing them on all the counters in the book store I was managing, to add positive inspiration/energy to the environment. Once the rocks were a reality, I started giving them away to people who seemed to need a bit of hope or something to hold onto, a way to redirect their thoughts and be reminded that someone (I) was aligned with them to find happiness/peace. Reports came back regularly from people telling me how the rocks had helped them through certain circumstances and these same people started purchasing rocks and special ordering rocks to give to people in their lives who needed similar little reminders or, as I like to call them, “bundles of positive energy ” to brighten their days. I painted my first believe and love rocks on Easter morning in 1999 …about eight months after I had painted and worn out my first believe shirt. The apartment from which I painted the first rocks was about 3 blocks from the beach ….this was one of my dreams …to live by the beach. And, at the time, I had just ventured out into the world as an independent artist, leaving the corporate world to pursue my artistic interests. This was a major leap of faith, so, “believe ” was definitely what I was doing. Over the course of the last six years, I have given away and sold hundreds of rocks with all kinds of encouraging words and phrases on them. The overall purpose of these rocks is to assist people to align with their best selves, their soul purpose and to anchor in that energetic way. On September 7, 2005, I became inspired to make a bigger difference, to start to affect a bigger ripple effect, when I was watching the news and saw how so many people allowed their minds to spiral out of control in the aftermath of the recent hurricane Katrina. As I watched the anger and fighting, stealing and ugliness, I found myself thinking “it doesn ’t have to be like that. ” And realized that the people in that situation obviously didn ’t know that there is any other way of reacting. So, I decided to do what I can to help share the information that I have learned regarding how it is indeed possible for us to change our minds and thereby change our lives.
