Originally meant to simply fulfill a deep need within the downtown market for the rich, traditional German cuisine, Aki saw the restaurant rise to become a staple and a favorite on the list of Denverites and Coloradans across the board.Thanks to the dedication of Aki and others such as Sandra Boog and Marlene Garrett, traditional German food has found a permanent home in Denver.In 1998, Sandra and Marlene took over the reins from Aki, adding a softer, feminine touch to operations as well as decor.
