I don't know about you, but, I am having a hard time believing that the 4th of July is already upon us. Where did the year go? I guess the old adage is true that time does fly when you having fun...and, I am still having fun and enjoying what I do for a living. Like many of you, Calfe & Associates has had to make some adjustments this year. One of those was to expand our training and leadership development coaching. We have done training seminars on everything from "Staying Positive in Challenging Times" to "Stress Management" to "Communications Skills." We have also had the wonderful opportunity to partner with Penn State New Kensington in their HR 101 certification series by providing the Kick-off seminar and then one on Performance Evaluations. On the Leadership Development front, I have met many wonderful people who are true professionals who want to hone their leadership skills. So, to all of you who have called up to do training and coaching - Thank You! Of course, Calfe & Associates is still providing the best outplacement programs in the area to our clients - both old and new. As President of ACF North America, I have heard horror stories of how some outplacement firms are providing services - times sessions, all group, no individual, website access only, no report to clients - all in the time of providing "cost effective" services. I feel, as many do in my industry, that we can still provide top-notch service to our customers without compromising our values and integrity. At Calfe & Associates, we provide individual service to all our candidates, even those with workshops. We will send you monthly reports and only charge for those that use the service. As a female-owned small business, perhaps I try a little harder to provide the best service; but, in the long run it is worth it. Our candidates have been landing new positions within the 3.5- to 4-month range; a fact we are extremely proud of in these challenging times. Being in the business as long as I have with over 25-years of experience, I can honestly say that I am the most experience and only certified career coach in the area providing outplacement service from start-up and operation of career centers (I have over 10 that I have done over the years) to individual coaching. And, where many of the firms are being put on the "For Sale" block or cutting back on their staff, Calfe & Associates is growing and thriving.
