In an attempt to address the needs of boys and girls individually, each camp session is expressly focused on the student's needs. We provide male and female instructors who mentor the cadets based on their life experiences. Each academy session is designed to provide positive role models for boys and girls. The camps are coed and designed for boys and girls to interact in a professional environment.

The CCA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Public Benefit Educational Corporation. The organization was established to provide high school aged students the opportunity to experience what it would be like to become a Firefighter, Law Enforcement Officer or Emergency Medical Technician.

The California Cadet Academy is dedicated to providing a safe environment for the cadets to learn and experience what Firefighters, Law Enforcement Officers and Emergency Medical Technicians do on a daily basis. Cadets experience a range of practical exercises, but the academy is limited on what types of activities can be presented due to safety restrictions. The academy does not offer firearms training or defensive tactics. Due to the sensitive landscape of California, controlled burns (actual fires) will not be conducted.
