Memories of a childhood confection, a Christmas tradition, and requests from family and friends led to the creation of a Mobridge business that brings a sweet taste of South Dakota goodness to people across the nation. Vicki Rothstein experimented with lots of recipes before settling on one that recalled her childhood. That was the impetus for what would become Calla English Toffee. The result is a toffee that ’s even better than the candy Vicki remembers from her childhood. Calla Toffee is hand made with all natural ingredients and no preservatives. It ’s made with things you can pull off your shelves at home - fresh butter, sugar, nuts, and chocolate. The best part about these homemade candies is Vicki does all the measuring, stirring, and thermometer watching for you. The calla in Calla Toffee comes from the calla lily. The toffee comes in a sturdy, square box that features a calla lily. The boxes were designed by Lynne Opitz, a South Dakota artist.
