Fisherman know what they're looking for. They know quality when they see it. We've designed our products knowing exactly what was needed, because we're fishermen ourselves. The Calusa Trading Company started several years ago as one fisherman's attempt to find a cast net, when none were available. We all know the feeling -- I wanted a cast net, but I didn't want to wait a month or two, I wanted to fish now. Since no one had a net available I did the next best thing -- I got together with my buddy (now my partner) Buster and had a net made to our specifications. Since this was going to be our net, we decided to make it the best. We wanted a net that laid flat, threw easily and sank fast. What we developed was a net that laid flatter, sank faster and threw easier than any we had ever used. From this net a company was born.
