Description

The Cambridge Eating Disorder Center (CEDC) strives to provide the highest quality continuum of care in a non-institutional community setting to both males and females suffering from eating disorders. Founded in 2000 by Dr. Seda Ebrahimi, CEDC initially offered outpatient services as well as an adult evening intensive outpatient program. In 2004, we began offering New England's first and only evening intensive outpatient program to adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17.

We are dedicated to maintaining the privacy of our clients' personal health information as part of providing professional care and are required by law to keep clinical information private. We only disclose personal health information to provide clients with treatment and to arrange payment for our services. Our staff is trained to comply with the patient privacy regulations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Upon entry into our program, clients will be given a Notice of Privacy Practices which will outline all the specific guidelines pertaining to HIPAA.

CEDC’s mission is to provide a comprehensive continuum of high quality , specialized services in a community setting to individuals suffering from eating disorders. Our philosophy is that eating disorders are multi-dimensional problems caused by a combination of factors such as an individual’s characterological components, physiological issues, difficult family and interpersonal relationships, and societal pressures. Eating disorders are also conceptualized as serving an adaptive function for the individual.
