The Cheyenne framework is a software development architecture and toolset created by CampMinder. It leverages various technologies to streamline the development of first-rate web applications. The foundation of Cheyenne is a distributed server environment and sophisticated database architecture. A server-side business layer manipulates, processes, and serves data for both synchronous and asynchronous transfer to the client web browser. On the client-side, the Cheyenne Framework features a creative blending of cascading style sheets, JavaScript, and a variety of third-party components, including Yahoo's User Interface Library. The unique combination of these technologies results in a rich, interactive, and friendly user interface. The entire framework is designed in a manner that limits code dependency and maximizes the reusability of code. This design allows for the rapid development of applications by enabling multiple developers to work simultaneously using a comprehensive library of pre-existing components. Cheyenne is intended to be used to manipulate data for the purpose of business management. Being that, by nature, business data is sensitive and mission critical, the Cheyenne Framework extends beyond the application itself in order to provide maximum reliability and security. The server farm that supports Cheyenne is firewalled in a world-class datacenter on a zero-downtime network. Data is stored to redundant hard drives, backed up on a transactional level, and stored securely every night at an off-site location.
