Description

The Campus Leadership Program identifies and recruits conservative students on college campuses and helps them organize independent conservative groups and publications. These independent groups and publications fight back against the radical leftists who dominate the faculty, administration, and campus life at the majority of American colleges. With Institute training and support, these young conservatives learn how to: - fight political correctness and classroom bias - host conservative speakers and events on campus - start conservative newspapers - win student government elections The Campus Leadership Program (CLP) started in 1997 as a pilot program with only one staffer responsible for organizing and working with conservative students at campuses in the Washington, D.C., area. With the generous help of Leadership Institute donors, the program gradually expanded and now has groups in all 50 states. In 2007, CLP recruited, trained, and sent out a record 70 field representatives to campuses across the country to organize independent conservative campus groups. Ten regional Campus Service Coordinators support the field reps and work with local campus leaders. At every school they visit, Leadership Institute field representatives find young conservatives keen to join together to promote conservative principles and fight the left on campus.
