Canavan Associates

Description

Canavan Associates began in 2003 as a specialized management information systems and education company. Initially working with social service providers, Canavan Associates managed implementations of data systems that were primarily used by homeless shelters to assist in the comprehension and measuring of homelessness. Managing director, David Canavan leveraged his national contacts developed over several years at the McCormack Institute to launch the company. As a systems administrator for their statewide homeless management information system he managed a data system that demanded high integrity, high availability, and confidentiality. In 2004 Canavan Associates expanded its services to include evaluation and education. Along with Abt Associates , the QED Group , and others, the National HMIS Technical Assistance Project successfully evaluated over 300 communities' implementations of large data systems. The data from this project was included in the Department of Housing and Urban Development March 2005 Report to the United States Congress. Canavan Associates continues to be an authorized National HMIS TA Provider . 2005 brings the acceptance of Canavan Associates into the David Lynas Consulting Group. DLCG offers clients "leading edge advice from the world's elite information security consultants." This partnership recognizes Canavan Associates' work developing information security resources nationally in the US. It also launches Canavan Associates' first international project.
