The Cancer Crusaders Organization maintains a unique niche by tailoring resources, education, and advocacy more specifically to the young adult population. We feel that if this target public will embrace more proactive cancer prevention behaviors now, they will significantly decrease their likeliness of a future cancer diagnosis. Furthermore, if we can engage individuals in the 17-to-30 age-range, we can perpetuate future community leaders and activists that will initiate measures that significantly improve the overall quality of life. We believe that there needs to be a re-direction of focus within the cancer community; a shift from "cancer awareness" to prevention education so to empower citizens to make informed decisions about lifestyles and health care.
