The Capital Area Center for Independent Living (CACIL) was established in 1976 to empower people with disabilities to take control of their lives. Independent Living is the principle that individuals with any disability, to the fullest extent possible, shall work, live in their own homes, raise families, and participate in the everyday activities of life.
