Today, Carbit manufactures compliant and environment friendly green coatings that are designed to meet the specialized needs of its customers. High performance, one and two component waterbased coatings are in demand now, but our laboratory continues its research in other areas. We are always looking for new ways to serve our customers’ needs.

“Coating Solutions” is not new to Carbit or to our customers. Carbit has been customizing products and tailoring services in response to our customer’s desires for years. These “solutions” have taken many forms. Examples range from developing solutions as basic as maintaining stock levels of particular paints so that we can supply our customers more readily, to projects as complex as developing, formulating and private-labeling new products.

For over 85 years, Carbit Paint Company has manufactured product finishes, industrial coatings, and specialty products. These liquid coatings are solvent-based and waterborne; standard and low VOC (volatile organic compounds); thermoset, force-dry, and air dry. Most finishes are available in standard colors or are custom blended to customer specifications.

There are paint manufacturers, like Carbit Paint in Chicago, that specialize in supplying factory mixed colors on a made-to-order basis. These manufactures produce alkyds, acrylics and urethanes in small batch quantities, as little as 25 gallons, to meet the need for color variety without losing the benefits of factory mixed colors.
