The story of American Turbine begins in 1936 when a family business was founded to install pumps in the West Texas plains. Three generations of pump experience later, the founders of American Turbine began looking for a way to make existing pumps more efficient. It soon became apparent, however, that the only way of doing this effectively would be for this company to manufacture the pumps themselves. Thus in July of 1975, American Turbine Pump Company, Inc. was founded in Lubbock, Texas, combining decades of experience in the pump industry.

Featured Application Cardinal Pump was recently presented a very unique and interesting challenge. Due to Missouri drought conditions over the summer, river water levels were at record lows. There was significant risk levels would continue to fall, potentially leaving a nearby lift station ‘high and dry’ as the currently installed intake pumps would not be able to provide sufficient flows of water. Our solution: We were able to provide three two-stage propeller pumps, each capable of pumping over 25 million gallons of water per day.
