Founded in 1991, Vermont Respite House is a program of the Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties. Vermont Respite House is not a hospital, nursing home or institution, but truly a home-away-from-home where people with terminal illness can spend their final days in peace surrounded by the love of family and friends. Respite House is a unique model in health care. It is the first and currently only Medicare-certified hospice residence in Vermont.

With your support, we are able to provide care for 6000 people and their families each year, regardless of their ability to pay. With your support, we are able to pioneer new programs to meet the changing needs of our community. And, with your support, we are able to ensure the availability of VNA services for generations to come.

VNA's Adult Home Care program provides skilled, Medicare-certified, state-of-the-art home care around Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties to promote health and minimize pain and suffering. We work collaboratively with you, your family and your doctor to develop a plan of care that will allow you to remain safe in your home and to be as independent and active as possible.
