As Jewish Family Services has crossed into the new millennium, with a staff of more than 30 qualified, caring professionals, families and individuals are strengthened through a myriad of services. Clients utilize Jewish Family Services' career counseling and employment services, helping them achieve their job and career goals through one-on-one services, technology, training, access to current job leads, and referrals to hiring employees.Resettled New Americans today are receiving extensive help with access to services in health, welfare and employment guaranteeing them a future of becoming more self-sufficient.Jewish Family Services had its origin when the Federated Jewish Charities of Columbus, as it was originally called, was first organized in December, 1908. Its objective was to "unite together forces in the Jewish community to raise money for the same." The agency's work was carried on by lay people who met weekly to consider the requests made by clients for assistance.
