Let me ask you a couple of questions. -If you needed surgery to remove a malignant tumor from your brain, would you go to a foot doctor or a brain specialist? -If you needed major back surgery would you go to an intern who just finished medical school, or the best neurosurgeon in your area? Of course the answer to these questions is obvious because you want the one who would be the most qualified to solve your short term problem as well as the most likely to help you with any future flare-ups with this problem. The very same care should be taken when purchasing a Long-Term Care (LTC) policy from an insurance agent. This is a specialized "new" field of insurance and many agents are not qualified to give you the best advice nor or they qualified to serve you when you need it later on. In the same context as the above questions, let me ask you this. -Would you rather purchase your LTC insurance policy from an insurance agent who mainly sells Medicare supplements and burial policies? Or would you rather purchase from an agent who specializes in this product and has taken the time and spent the money to better educate himself, in order to give his customers the best service available? -Would you rather buy your LTC insurance from an agent from out of town that only sells for one company and won't be around at claim time to help you and your family during this emotional time?
