My husband, Michael, was raised here as were my three children. We consider ourselves very lucky to be part of such great community. You cannot resist getting involved in town activities and government. Historical Society, Garden Clubs, VFW; Westport is a treasure trove of community organizations and clubs to meet every interest. Westport citizens are diverse and generous and willing step up when called on to volunteer their time in keeping our town vibrant and affordable. My husband, Michael, and I feel so grateful to be part of this community and continue to donate our time and hopefully give back some of the contributions that this town have given to us and our families. For many years, I was involved in town government. I was a member of the town council (Representative Town Meeting- RTM); I was elected chairman and member of the Planning and Zoning Commission. We found the Westport Sons of Italy back in 1978 and since 1981. The Sons of Italy club sponsors the Festival Italiano, a four day festival held in Saugatuck every July that draws tens of thousands of people.
