Carlisle Associates Inc. began operations in Columbia , South Carolina on February 27, 1977 . For more than thirty years our firm has been providing services in Architecture; Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering and Construction Services. We provide these services for a wide variety of clients including industrial, commercial, governmental and educational projects.

Our philosophy has always been, and continues to be, to direct this firm towards our goals of providing quality and timely service, and projects that are completed within budget. We are dedicated to extending honesty and integrity in all of our associations with our clients. We strive to genuinely understand our clients' needs and provide a finished project that is attractive, adaptable and durable. We give every project our personal attention.

The staff of Carlisle Associates Inc. are highly skilled professionals and have extensive experience in working together as a team. Because our firm is small (20 person staff) one of our principals is involved in every project as the Principal In Charge. The Principal In Charge has overall responsibility and will serve as the primary contact between Carlisle Associates and the client.

Our Architectural staff has diverse experience in industrial, commercial, housing and government projects which gives them the ability to draw upon a broad knowledge base for innovative and dependable design solutions for our clients. The Department reviews and prepares all plans, specifications, bid documents and general conditions for buildings required for the project. A staff member is then charged with the responsibility for construction observation services. Interior design issues are handled by the Department in coordination with the owner's consultants.

In 1991, Mr. Zanders joined Carlisle Associates and is now President. The vast majority of work is for industrial clientele where "on time and on budget" are the driving factors. Sixty to seventy percent of the work is design/build where his twenty-two years of experience in Contract Administration allows him to work closely with contractors. This "nuts and bolts" field experience provides Carlisle Associates with the ability to "Value Engineer" projects from inception and avoid gold plating the detailing of the job.
