A family, a couple or an individual takes one or two people into their own home and provides all needed services and supports. This arrangement is the most common type of residential setting. The level of support and the amount of supervision offered by the Providers depend upon the person’s needs. Some of the people we serve are quite independent in many areas but others need to have a Provider close by due to occasional medical or behavioral issues. Others are less independent and/or have very serious medical and/or behavioral challenges, and require constant attention.

The company is a full service provider. Twenty-four hour Comprehensive Residential Services are provided as well as Supported Living Services (SLS), Children’s Extensive Services (CES), and Children’s Habilitation Residential Services (CHRP). Vocational Services, provided through Progressive Job Solutions, include Community Integrated Employment (CIE) and work enclaves. Carmel also offers Day Program Services both in Community Participation and Supported Living. These are all custom designed services based on the individual’s needs.

We provide really good services! When the State inspects our programs, [See #12 below] they agree that we do a good job. You can see our survey reports from the State on DDD’s page at www.cdhs.state.co.us. Carmel employs Quality Assurance Managers whose main focus is assuring that we are providing a high quality of services, and it shows! We also have many long-term staff and providers whose experience, guidance and expertise are invaluable. We are strict about doing things right, but otherwise we tend to be pretty informal, which makes interacting with us easy and relaxed.

Carmel’s Southern Region offers a variety of services to the individuals we serve, focusing on community based programs such as our School to Work Transition Program for high school students and our community based Day Program. We have developed an excellent working relationship with the Division for Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) to assist individuals with a variety of disabilities to find jobs in the community.
