CITP was founded in April of 1987 as McConnell Services (McS) and operated under that name until 1994. At that time a strategic alliance between companies facilitated a name change to McConnell Associates (McA). Then in January of 2001, McConnell Associates incorporated as Carolina IT Professionals, Incorporated (CITP) a wholly owned corporation by Phyllis Friday McConnell.
