Saturday, April 26, 2014 marks the 8th Annual “Shred the Hopes of ID Thieves” Community Shred Day at Carter County Bank.

Saturday, April 27, was a record breaking year for Carter County Bank’s Annual Free Community Shred Day with a total of almost 20,000 pounds of paper professionally shredded and recycled. The Village branch, located at 800 Broad Street in Elizabethton, was busy with normal bank customers as well as local residents who brought trucks, boxes and garbage bags full of documents containing their personal information and watched it be shredded by Cintas, an on-site document shredding company. “We started this event several years ago and it continues to grow each year.
