Description

Our lab pairs the new employee with someone for the length ofr their orientation which is usually one month. During that time the new person is on call also with the employee they are teamed with. I think one important thing to do that really helps a new employee is once off orientation they should be scheduled with a team for regular work days and on call hours that have experience and are advanced practitioners. They should be given a point person who they can go to with questions and explainations. If this is done, the new hire does not feel so naked once the orientation period is over.
