Description
I've learned that being a good steward has several layers to it. First, is the recognition that everything we have comes to us from God: our time, our talent and our treasure, our intelligence, our opportunities, every breath we take. Believing this is the easy part. Next, is realizing that we have an obligation to accept these gifts, develop them and use them wisely. Then, we should return a portion to the Lord, (here it gets a little trickier) not from the leftovers, but from our first fruits. We plan our budgets and our time at work. We spend lots of time deciding where we want to send our children to college. We plan to be home to watch a special TV show.
